This experiment explores how live data can shape and animate generative matter. In this experiment, I connected to a live API to retrieve real-time data from Open Weather Map, racking the number of tweets sent and mobile phones sold globally, moment by moment.
Using Python and Touchdesigner,
I designed a generative visual content in the form of a reactive sphere: as tweets multiplied, the surface distorted with increasing turbulence; as more phones were sold, the sphere expanded in scale, reflecting the swelling tide of consumer technology.
This work emerged from a curiosity about digital presence and collective activity. It attempts to translate abstract flows of information into tangible, living matter, offering a poetic lens on how global behaviors might shape invisible systems in real time.
